Glut of Birthdays

Between November and December each year, a huge number of people in my life celebrate their birthdays. People who I am close to and care for – not just Facebook acquaintances and celebrities.
My mother-in-law, a wonderful woman who made me feel loved and included and accepted from the first time I met her, was born in mid-November. Gosh, I remember feeling so awkward and nervous when Mark took me to dinner at her house the first time. It was March and I had flown to PA to visit him for a week – for the first time. Yikes! I wore a green sweater and an ecru stretch-denim skirt and I spilled a dollop of lasagna on it that stained. You can still see it – minutely – to this day.
My brother-in-law, Jason, was born a day or two later. I miss him – I miss him for Mark’s sake, even more – but I won’t weep any more tears over the repeated betrayal of he and his wife. I hope one day we can be friends again. Recently… I thought we were…
A dear friend from school, Catherine, was born at the end of the month and though I haven’t seen her in years, she actually visited Mark and I went we lived in Ellensburg and I wish we had had longer to chat! Our weekly emails and geeking out about Doctor Who are highlights of the week for me.
My sister – my freaking awesome, inspirational, adorable little sister – was born on November 30th. She celebrates the whole month as her Birthday Month and I just have to chuckle each time. She just makes me want to be a better person – to work to change myself the way she does.
Oh – and though neither are birthdays, exactly, both Mark & I (11/22) and my Mom & Dad (11/24) celebrate anniversaries in these two months. Plus – our wedding anniversary is 12/31!
Then, in December, my sister-in-law, Jasmine, was born.
My bestest cousin, Becca, celebrates her birthday on the 9th.
My Mom is December 13th and I cannot even begin to express how much I love her.
My nephew, Malakai, is turning 2 tomorrow (12/16) and his daddy, my brother-in-law, Mike, has a birthday 12/24.
After that, is Christmas, another birthday celebration – tee-hee.
Then on New Year’s Eve, Mark & I will be celebrating our first year wedding anniversary.
Whew! It is an exhausting month of birthday cards and dreams of giving better gifts this year – which ended up being none, but the intention was there!
I think there are more people in these two months than we celebrate the rest of the year combined, or close. Its just a glut of birthdays!
…this post may be the lamest one I’ve ever done on Jeez, Josie.com. Because I’m forcing random crap out to keep to my every-other-day schedule. C’est la vie.
Happy Birthday, if you’re amongst those who celebrate in November & December, and if you’re not – Happy Birthday anyway! Chances are, if you are bothering to read this far, I love you!

Signed, Josie
