Damn it…

SPOILER ALERT!

Do not read if you are following Rhiallis’ story in serial and do not want to know what is coming in the next two weeks!

The end has come and gone.
      *sniffle*
Rhiallis’ in-game story has come to an end. A bloody, burn-y, horribly messy end. UGH! I’m so bummed out about it!
I’ve been pretty lucky, despite having some kill-happy DMs in our group, for though I have had a few characters drop, this is my first real dead character. Telly came back, Mim was raised too, and Nyx was unconscious, but never totally ganked. Rhiallis is utterly dead. A ninth level mage’s Fireball left her a crispy pile of Paladin.
I really shouldn’t complain – we were two PCs from a TPK that night. Jason’s Ranger, Red; Paul’s Wizard, Seraphina; Tim’s Fighter, Mickey Shambo; Brian’s brand new Paladin, Celeste; Mike’s Oracle, Ema… all dead. Only Chris’ Rogue, Mira, and Rhesa’s Samurai, Kumiko, lived to tell the tale.
It happened a few days ago now (well, I’m writing while the wound is still fresh…) and while I am mostly over it, I cannot help but be sad about her demise.
Rhiallis was my favorite PC so far. She was proper, but had fun. She was heavily armored, but bad at combat. She was a leader, a spokesperson, a bad-ass healer, a real “Lawful Good” type but not at all “Lawful Stupid”. She had friends, she was fun to write about, her background was tragic and I hope to share it one day.
      But now she’s gone.
The good news is that that means I can work up a slew of all new characters. Whee! I do so love new characters.
I could bring in Makoto Yu (did you ever read about her) or, more likely, someone new. An elf maybe. I’ve never played an elf. All humans, except Rhiallis, who as a human-like Aasimar.
What sort of new character sketches will you be faced with, now that Rhiallis is gone?
Well… to start, there are a bunch of installments of her story scheduled for the rest of June. So, she’s not gone from the blog yet. And after that… who knows?
      I am just SO sad.
Rest in Peace, Rhiallis, you fictional diva you… *sniffle*

Signed, Josie
